The guys that came to move me were a terrific crew. Although I was promised 4 people to do the move, the three that came (Joseph, Alejandro, and I can't remember the third name -- I just called him Spiderman because of how fast he wrapped my furniture), were up to the job. They worked quickly, and exceeded my expectations (based on previous moves).

I have had some HORRIBLE moving experiences... and I was dreading this move back to the east coast, but the two movers who showed up were AWESOME.. Their names were Gregory and Stephan. I could not have been happier with the work they did.. They moved quick.. They were so pleasant, and just did a phenomenal job.. The New York movers were GREAT- very friendly, very careful with our belongings. The only problem I had was with billing- I changed the credit card to be charged 24 hours before the move and the change was completely disregarded which was a very BIG problem. It was corrected as quickly as possible; which is all I could ask for. I would most definitely recommend FlateRate in the future- and the next time I move will be using FlateRate NY services.
Flat Rate provided three movers for my move, Joseph, Pasha, and Milan, they where great. They arrived on time and worked efficiently and quickly until my move was complete. They where all very pleasant and easy to communicate with.
Our movers were very fast and efficient. Very polite and all in uniform. They made us feel comfortable handling our delicate furniture. They well protected all of our furniture and misc sized items and boxed loose items. Our salesman Troy was very helpful and patient. He followed up promptly with our multiple questions and changes. There is only one thing more alluring than the thought of moving to Los Angeles, and that is the hope of conquering the big city. Self-move into NY was my first mistake! (12-JUL-2008)

It might be the big apples, but you'll need to pray to your guardian angel to move here safely. That's right, New York is a mover's nightmare. The city is, of course, literally moving: the area's twenty million residents are constantly driving to-and-fro, and all too often the ground ends up moving too. Maybe the only things that don't move around here are the freeways. But, against all odds, this city of immigrants and migrants makes moving in a challenge. Maybe it's an admissions test of sorts; those who are strong enough to survive the gauntlet of moving into NY deserve the reward of enjoying the city. The weak are left by the side of the road, wondering what happened.
Trying to self-move into NY was my first mistake. Trying to navigate the maze of freeways ("the five", "the four-oh-five", "the one-ten", and all the rest) is an adventure best left for the professionals. This may be a city built for the automobile, but it doesn't come with easy directions. It took a couple stops at gas stations to make the intersection of "the" 101 and "the" 110 make sense to a newcomer.
Traffic is a nightmare, and it only gets worse at night. The drivers make the roads even more of an adventure. I've moved several times in the past , most of the time with different companies but i just had the best move in my life on the last week with. Marian gave us a guaranteed price over the phone and help us plan our move. Soon their local dispatch called us and confirmed the job and went over the details. He also seemed very polite and professional,- I believe hi's name was Chris- and assured us everything is going as it planed and the movers will come tomorrow @ 9 am. Not only did they show up on time but they packed nearly our entire apartment. Shortly after arriving Cleo the foreman provided us with detailed information about the day and they started to work right away. Thank god they came with extra boxes and moving supplies and actually that we didn't even realize we will be needed! The packing obviously took much longer but once we arrived at our house they unpacked us in record time and even help us to reassemble our furniture.
